Tee Hee, Look What I Got!

Thank you so much to the lovely Rachael from Made With Love for my award.  I'm very flattered and thrilled to little pink bits!

By accepting this award, I am required to tell you 7 things about myself so here goes ...

1.   I am the eldest of four children, having three younger brothers.  I think this is the reason that, despite being naturally self-confident and outgoing, I get the heebie jeebies when faced with a big group of women, particularly school mothers!

2.   I have two tattoos.  The first is a small rosebud on my shoulder which I had done at the age of 15 and then had to hide from my dad for five years!  The other is a small flower on my wrist which I have had for about ten years ...

3.   I passed my driving test on the first attempt when I was 19 years old.  My first car was a brown mini called Chocolate Molly ...

I was a very nervous driver and spent more time decorating Molly with decals and filling her with floral scatter cushions than I did driving.  Over time I got a little more confident but then, ten years ago, a lorry crashed into my car and sent me spinning across three lanes of traffic.  I was completely physically unharmed but frightened to death.  I almost gave up driving there and then but had a sort of epiphany and decided that I would carry on but I would drive on the offensive rather than the defensive.  Anyway, since then, I've not looked back and am now a bit of a feisty driver.  I currently have a 1.9 Polo (still decorated with daisy decals) which goes like a rocket and can beat anyone from the traffic lights!  I also was the fastest woman in a go kart competition!

4.   I can analyse handwriting.  I don't mean that I got a book out the library one day and taught myself, I mean I only have to look at someone's writing and I get a very good feeling about their character and even, on occasions, events in their past which shape their personality.  I happened to mention this 'skill' to some work colleagues once, many years ago, and then got deluged with samples of handwriting!!!  I got to the point where I would charge £1.00 for each analysis!

5.  I used to be an artists' portrait model (not nude!).  My grandmother was an artist and I used to sit for her which lead to my sitting for both professional and amateur groups.  Consequently I am sure there must be hundreds of paintings of me out in the ether somewhere!  Yikes, what a horrid thought!

6.   I have had an enormous crush on Aled Jones for over twenty years!  I have seen him perform live three times (yes, I was the youngest audience member on all occasions!) and once met him at a book signing and flirted outrageously!  It's not the Songs Of Praise faith thing as that really isn't my cup of tea; it's his beautiful voice, personality and twinkly blue eyes!!!

7.   I live in jeans!  I have seven pairs (mostly Miss Sixty) and am rarely seen out of them.  I love them to bits!  Don't get me wrong, I take a lot of time to choose pretty tops, cardigans and accessories but always wear my beloved jeans to the point where I feel faintly silly in a skirt.  Anyway, I have recently made a resolution to wear a skirt or dress at least once a week and it's sooo hard!!!

Now, I have to pass this award onto 7 people whose blogs I consider beautiful in oh so many ways and thoroughly recommend:-

Happy day.

Hx

  11. I just read the comment you left for me! It made me smile, because it's true, Mr Angel and I end up holding wallets, sunglasses, baseball caps, bags and anyhting else while they all go on the rides!!!
I didn't fly for 20 years because of fear!! Then when Mr Angel was 50 we booked to go to America for the first time!! I didn't think about flying until it was booked!! I've never looked back and I don't mind flying at all now!!! Twenty years, what a waste though eh???
